It just isn't Christmas without...

In our house, it just isn't Christmas without...

1. Christmas Music

The staples: Mannheim Steamroller, John Denver and the Muppets, Josh Groban Christmas, to name a few.

2. Christmas Books

The Polar Express, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, The Christmas Box

3. Christmas Movies

The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Santa Clause, A Charlie Brown Christmas

4. Christmas Snacks

Caramel Popcorn, Homemade Chex Mix, M&M cookies

What makes it Christmas at your house?
Which songs, books, movies, snacks, and other traditions just have to happen to make it really feel like Christmas?

Holiday scented candles...because we have a fake tree...because I want a real tree, but can't afford one. And shedding pine needles drive me nuts. My two year old would try and eat them. So, scented candles.

It just isn't Christmas until I have watched 'White Christmas' and heard Bing Crosby sing me some Christmas tunes. :)
Also, my husbands family is really big into Christmas tree ornaments, so when we put up the tree it takes all day and we have so much fun.

Since the South never feels like Christmas :) We have to get the tree and lights up. The kids get a new ornament each year and every other ornament has a story to go along with it, so that's always fun. I also put up some garland along the staircase and fireplace mantel so I see it when I come in the door and sit down to watch TV :) Then we have to make sure to listen to Christmas music and make yummy snacks like peppermint bark (crushed up candy cane and white chocolate, mmmm). We also gear family home evenings around the Christmas theme this month. There's lots you have to do when it's still 70 degrees outside some days...

My family. Christmas sugar cookies. Strung popcorn. Advent Calendars. Christmas lights. Any Christmas music but I favor Frank Sinatra. The nativity story read on Christmas Eve. Paper snowflakes. Making and delivering treats to neighbors. A wreath on our front door. Clove and orange pomanders. Cracking nuts. The Nutcracker whether live or on TV...just to watch it once per Christmas season is a must. Hot cider and Peppermint Hot Cocoa.
